NORTH TEXAS CHARITY GOES NATIONAL
Program Assists High School and Law Enforcement Students in Need
Mineral Wells, TX- 17 September 2008-In September 2008, the Craig Crawford Memorial Scholarship (CCMS) announced the launch of their website www.craigcrawfordmemorialscholarship.org. Based in North Texas, the charity's new site is creating valuable exposure to this local non-profit charity that provides critical funding to prospective law enforcement and high school students.
Created in 2002 to honor the service of Mineral Wells Detective Craig Crawford, this unique scholarship program provides law-enforcement students the opportunity to receive monetary support required to complete training, education and/or licensing programs. The CCMS engages local law enforcement communities in charitable activities by raising money to assist needy individuals with a strong desire to succeed and a passion to serve. To date, the CCMS has awarded 17 academic scholarships for high school students and ten years worth of peace officer academy certifications. The volunteers of this non-profit charity engage in community activities to raise money for their scholarship but rely heavily on the continual generosity of the public to continue their track record of success.
The CCMS awards scholarships based on the financials needs of the student and applicants must demonstrate an enthusiastic desire to give back to their community. "The charity is expanding to extend financial support to our law enforcement and educational communities throughout the nation,” states Brent Crawford, Vice President, Craig Crawford Memorial Scholarship. Law enforcement students, prospective peace officers, and current peace officers with extenuating financial needs are encouraged to apply for the scholarship.
