Craig Crawford Scholarship Eligibility and Guidlines

Statement of Guidelines:

CCMS will identify and evaluate all applicants based on academic performance, community service, family values and financial need. All academic scholarships will be disbursed directly to the educational facilities’ and NOT the individual student. CCMS does not discriminate based on race, color, creed, nationality, age, health conditions or martial status.

Craig Crawford Memorial Scholarship may be awarded to persons in the following categories:

Law Enforcement

CCMS will provide financial scholarships to licensed peace officers, peace officer academy candidates and prospective peace officers. This includes but is not limited to:

  1. Licensed peace officers seeking higher education
  2. Prospective peace officers wanting to become a state licensed peace officer
  3. Funding to individual police agencies to provide equipment and supplies needed to serve the communities.

High School Students

Financial scholarships to graduating high school students seeking higher education to accredited academic facilities.

Community Aid

Financial assistance to individuals within the community based upon financial need.

Eligibility

Eligibility is determined by the following criteria:

Law enforcement officers and candidates will be selected by financial need and academic history.

  1. Applicants must plan to become a state licensed peace officer through an accredited academy or pursue a criminal justice major through an accredited education facility
  2. Any applicants who is a prospect of a law enforcement agency must provide a signed letter from the agency stating they will sponsor employment upon completion of training

Graduating high school students seeking higher education to approved and accredited academic institutions will be selected by financial need and academic history.

  1. Demonstrates a personal, essential financial need
  2. Displays leadership within current academic environment
  3. Promotes leadership within the community
  4. Personal development, achievements and accomplishments

Community service aid will be determined by financial need.

  1. Promotes and displays leadership within the community
  2. Practices and promotes strong familial values
  3. Victim of a natural disaster that affects the overall well-being of the family
