Welcome
The Craig Crawford Memorial Scholarship (CCMS) is a public non-profit charity based in Texas that encourages higher education for graduating high school students, peace officers, and community members. Since 2002, CCMS has honored the service of Detective Craig Crawford by providing scholarship funding to a wide variety of students in need. To date, over $29,000 has been awarded to financially needful individuals who demonstrate strong leadership skills among their peers as well as within the community.
The CCMS engages local law enforcement communities in charitable activities by raising money to assist needy individuals with a strong desire to succeed and a passion to serve. Law enforcement students, prospective peace officers, and current peace officers with extenuating financial needs are encouraged to apply for the scholarship.
Giving back to the community through sponsoring a worthwhile charity is a rewarding endeavor. The CCMS relies on the continual financial support of businesses and concerned citizens to ensure its success. By building a strong network of community members with the desire to help others achieve their goals, the Craig Crawford Memorial Scholarship will continue to be a successful program well into the future.
Facts:
- 60% of all scholarship monies awarded have been criminal justice students
- 75% of the scholarship monies awarded have been financially underprivileged students
- Selection criteria for the scholarships are reviewed on academic performance and financial need
- All scholarship proceeds are dispersed directly to the educational facilities in the recipient’s name.
- Annually, we assist a minimum of four high school students and one law enforcement peace officer academy student.
Golf Tournament
2012 Golf Tournament: April 28th, 1:00 PM
Each year, the Craig Crawford Memorial Scholarship fund depends on individual and corporate donations to ensure its success. The annual CCMS golf tournament is a great opportunity to give back to the community while enjoying golf with friends. We are excited to raise charity money to benefit law enforcement and financially underprivileged students. The Craig Crawford Memorial scholarship has awarded over $29,000 in scholarships within the local communities and has donated 10 years of scholarships to peace officer academy students.
We extend tremendous gratitude to our sponsors, players and volunteers. Together we are making a difference in law enforcement, college bound high school students, and community members in need.
Donating to Charity
Everyone loves the feeling of giving to the less fortunate or deserving and charitable contributions can have tax benefits as well. The great feeling you get from charity donations is well worth the effort, and even a small donation can greatly help a non profit organization.
The more charitable organizations receive the more good they can do for the world. If you have not made a charitable contribution recently there are many organizations you can donate to help make the world a better place.
Even if you agree that giving to a charity is a good thing to do, the charity you deem most deserving may differ from another person. There is no right or wrong non profit organization to donate to as they all help other people. There is also no right way to donate whether it is time, skills, or a monetary donation. There are many ways to donate to charity and many good non profit organizations to support.
Many people choose charities that give to the less fortunate. These charities give food, clothing, and medical care to the less fortunate in your local area or around the world. Many people get great satisfaction helping those less fortunate than themselves.
Some people like to donate to non profit organizations dedicated to medical research or helping part of the population overcome other types of obstacle. Many people get great satisfaction donating to these organizations especially if a loved one benefits from the organizations work.
Other non profit organizations work to provide grants, scholarships, and other academic funding to students and community members pursuing an education in various fields. People who donate to these organizations can feel good about helping a young person get an education and work towards giving back to the community.
There is no right or wrong way to donate and not right or wrong organization to give to. Choose a charity you feel good about and your donation will pay off for yourself as well as for those you help with it.
